Label: Includes any image, design, mark, or text displayed on the food, its container, or the packaging of the container.
Container: Any material or object used to contain food, whether by placing, wrapping, or any other method.
Prepackaged Food: Food that is enclosed or packaged in a container for sale.
Display of Food Registration Number
The display of a food registration number refers to the use of a symbol or format for food products that have been authorized, including registered food formulas, approved food labels, registered foods, or notified food products.
It consists of two components:
1. The Thai FDA (อย.) symbol/frame
2. The 13-digit food registration number
Structure of the 13-Digit Food Registration Number
The food registration number consists of 13 digits, divided into five groups, each representing specific information:
Digits 1–2: Indicate the province where the manufacturing or importing facility is located
Digit 3: Identifies the authority that approved the facility (Thai FDA or Provincial Public Health Office)
Digits 4–8: Represent the approved facility number for that year, issued by the Thai FDA or Provincial Public Health Office
Digit 9: Indicates the authority that approved the product
Digits 10–13: Represent the product’s registration number, assigned sequentially within that facility
